Position Overview

Position Summary

As a Front End Developer @ Gearbox you are responsible for working with our lead developers, surpassing our partners expectations (and your own?) by always thinking on your feet, and growing your skills with us as we continue to grow. This position is remote friendly.

You're fluent in HTML, CSS, Javascript, and maybe even PHP. You have experience working with modern JS frameworks (React, Gatsby, etc.) and go above and beyond to support our clients' vision for their site. You solve cross-browser compatibility issues with ease across desktop, tablet and mobile devices and debug glitches on the fly. You are comfortable working with RESTful APIs and cloud services.

Responsibilities

• Ability to write structured, well-organized, and reusable code
• Inspect and troubleshoot bugs and other QA issues
• Stay on top of best practices/trends/tools
• Ensure and uphold UI/UX in designs
• Manage your own tasks & deadlines
• Be able to communicate directly with partners if the need arises
• Contribute to ongoing projects and drive to improve the development process
• Develop reusable code, documentation for code standards and workflows

Skills

• 1–2 years experience in web development field
• Experience using Shopify, and/or WordPress (bonus for Drupal/other platforms)
• Extremely well versed in the art of HTML, CSS/SCSS, and Javascript/jQuery/ES6 (bonus for Liquid/PHP)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Version-control experience (Git)
• Experience with build tools (Gulp, Webpack, etc…)
• Bonus: Gatsby experience
